How do you show your Mom love?

Every year we have a day to celebrate Mom’s everywhere. For many years on Mother’s Day I have been lucky to get homemade cards. They may be collecting dust in a box someplace, but I loved getting them. Other years all I ask is that someone else make the meals that day. However, I still always ask for a week away on the beach myself. All I really need is a stack of books and some spotty wifi. I’m still waiting for my family to deliver on that though. But what really is it that moms need and want? No, really – I’m asking this question to you. Because my family asks me each year and I clearly don’t know what I want. What is is that moms want for Mother’s Day? I can share a list that has flowers, chocolate, diamonds and Chanel. But ultimately, I think mothers want recognition and appreciation. It would nice to hear that while we were on a beach though.

This past year, mothers around the world have faced some of our greatest challenges. We’ve had resources taken away. We have felt unsupported. We have felt the emotional and physical toll of parenting amplified. But through all of the difficulties and uncertainties of this last year, there has been one thing. It is the shared appreciation of our collective strength. We have championed ourselves as organic baby food makers. Moms have survived sleepless nights with newborns. We have suffered through an obscene amount of eye rolls from our teenagers. Mothers have laughed and cried through the toddler years and survived the trauma of dropping off my children at pre-school. We have done all we can because we are moms. It’s what we do.

So this mother’s day I am honouring and celebrating all the mothers who have come before me. To them who have made this job look so easy. To all the mother’s who have walked alongside me. Who have picked me up when I falter. I am celebrating the mothers who come after me who are full of bright (yet tired) eyed hope. To my own mother who has shown a strength that I am only now able to fully appreciate. What can I do to let these women know how much they are loved and appreciated? I would love to send all the moms flowers and Chanel. But I am trying a new thing called “a budget.” So I am sending my mom a special written message. Except my lazy self doesn’t have any inclination to go to a store or to the post office. Which is why this Mother’s Day, I am sending some of the moms in my life a personalized card from MyPostCard.

A personalized photo card always makes a wonderful gift

MyPostCard app makes sending a personalized card so easy right from our phones. It sends real cards for you that show up directly in the receiver’s mailbox, so this isn’t just a digital card.

  • Pick from a large selection of postcards or fold up cards with an option of an envelope
  • Personalize any of the cards. You can add n your own personal photos, change colours and fonts. Of course you can write your own special message as well.
  • MyPostCard app stamps and mails your postcards for you from anywhere to anywhere!
  • The cards cost the same (if not less) than what it would cost you to buy one and mail it yourself. But it saves you time so you can focus on what really matters. Which is telling the moms in your life what they truly mean to you.

This year many of us can’t hug our moms just yet. But we can still show them how much we cherish and love them. We can send them a beautiful and thoughtful personalized card through MyPostCard app (click here).  Let your mom, and all those your are in your life, know how loved and valued they truly are. Because it is the expression of love and appreciation that a mother does that we truly want to be recognized.
